Srinagar Police attach drug traffickers properties worth over four crore

Srinagar, june 5, 2026 :- Srinagar Police attached movable and immovable assets valued at more than four crore rupees in a major crackdown against narcotics networks under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan.

The separate operations were conducted by the Lal Bazar and Khanyar police stations under the strict provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act to dismantle the financial infrastructure of local drug cartels.

The Lal Bazar Police Station attached a double-storey house built on nine marlas of land in the Sikh Bagh area belonging to Aadil Ahmad Dhobi. This action was taken under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act in connection with an ongoing narcotics case.

Authorities also seized a Swift Dzire vehicle linked to the accused during the operation. In another case, the same police station attached a Santro car belonging to Arshid Ahmad Sheikh of Haka Bazar under identical provisions of the anti-drug law.

The Khanyar Police Station executed a separate order to attach a double-storey residential building along with 12 marlas of land in Tangbagh. The property is registered to Owais Hussain Mir and is valued at approximately two crore rupees.

Investigators identified the asset as illegally acquired property generated through the proceeds of narcotics smuggling, leading to its seizure after all legal formalities were finalized.The combined value of the seized real estate and vehicles exceeds four crore rupees, marking a significant step by local law enforcement to target the economic foundations of illegal drug trade.

Officials stated that these measures aim to ensure that criminal activities remain unprofitable and to deprive smugglers of their ill-gotten wealth.

The police department reaffirmed its commitment to a drug-free society and urged citizens to share reliable information regarding substance abuse and peddling.
