SSB Director General reviews Shri Amarnath Yatra security arrangements in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, June 5, 2026 :- Sashastra Seema Bal Director General Sanjay Singhal visited the 10 Battalion in Batmaloo, the 13 Battalion in Dignibal, and various adhoc battalions deployed for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 to evaluate operational readiness across Jammu and Kashmir. The transit tour focused on assessing the security framework and logistical preparations ahead of the annual pilgrimage.

During his visit to the 10 Battalion base in Batmaloo, the Director General flagged off 26 newly inducted bullet-resistant vehicles specifically designated for the Shri Amarnath Yatra security convoy. Officials noted that the addition of these specialized vehicles will significantly boost the operational capabilities and protective cover of the force during the pilgrimage season.

At the 13 Battalion headquarters in Dignibal, the top official conducted a comprehensive review of the security grid and defensive deployments. He interacted directly with the on-duty personnel, addressed their professional grievances, and encouraged the troops to maintain high standards of vigilance, dedication, and professionalism while executing their duties.

The transit security assessment also extended to various adhoc battalion deployment pockets scattered across the Ganderbal district. The Director General inspected the ground-level arrangements for the pilgrimage, engaged with the field troops to boost their morale, and instructed all ranks to remain on high alert to ensure a safe and secure environment for the yatra.
