Srinagar Principal Census Officer Reviews Training for Census 2027
SRINAGAR, May 13, 2026 — Principal Census Officer (Urban) and Commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Faz Lul Haseeb, visited key census training centers today at Kashmir Government Polytechnic College, Gogji Bagh, and Government Women’s College, M.A. Road. The visit was aimed at reviewing the progress of training programs currently being provided to supervisors and enumerators ahead of the upcoming Census 2027. During the inspection, the Commissioner assessed the quality of instruction and overall preparedness to ensure the sessions align with official national guidelines.
Addressing the trainers and participants, Haseeb emphasized that the census is a critical national exercise essential for accurate policy formulation and long-term planning. He urged the field staff to master the enumeration procedures, stressing the need for transparency, accuracy, and dedication in their roles. Accompanied by City Census Officer Nuzhat Qureshi and various charge officers, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the logistical arrangements and commended the staff for their organizational efforts.
