DG Assam Rifles calls on Northern Army Commander at Srinagar

Srinagar May 13,2026 :- Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles, called on Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, SYSM, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command at 15 Corps Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.

The interaction focused on the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and issues of mutual interest, while further strengthening coordination and synergy between the two formations.

The DG Assam Rifles has also been visiting Assam Rifles battalions deployed in Counter Insurgency roles across Jammu & Kashmir over the past two days, reviewing operational readiness and interacting with troops on ground
