Ramban Police Apprehend Drug Peddler with Heroin-Like Substance Near Dharamkund
RAMBAN — As part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan initiative to combat the drug crisis, Ramban Police successfully apprehended an individual carrying a heroin-like substance during a targeted operation. Acting on credible intelligence, a dedicated team from the Dharamkund Police Station established a checkpoint on the link road leading to the station. During the “naka” checking, officers intercepted Muneer Ahmad Khan, a resident of Parthmulla Gool, who was subsequently taken into custody.
Following the interception, a personal search was conducted in the presence of the Executive Magistrate 1st Class Ramban. This search led to the recovery of approximately 2 grams of a substance suspected to be heroin. Consequently, authorities have registered FIR No. 07/2026 under Sections 8, 21, and 22 of the NDPS Act at the Dharamkund Police Station, and a formal investigation is now underway to trace the links of the illicit trade.
The successful operation was executed by a team led by Inspector Joginder Singh Chib, SHO of Dharamkund, under the direct supervision of SDPO Gool and the overall guidance of Arun Gupta. Reaffirming their stance against narcotics, the police department has urged the public to actively participate in the drug-free campaign by reporting any suspicious activities, emphasizing that community cooperation is vital to eradicating the drug menace from society.
