Indian Navy ship INS Sudarshini arrives in Cape Verde for final African port call

MINDELO, May 8, 2026 — The Indian Navy sail training ship INS Sudarshini arrived at the port of Mindelo in Cape Verde earlier this week as part of the Lokayan 26 voyage. This visit marks the ship’s eighth port call and serves as its final stopover on the African continent before it begins a trans-Atlantic crossing.

The arrival highlights the continued progress of a journey that has already covered more than 8,000 nautical miles.During the stay in Mindelo, the crew will participate in a series of professional engagements and training exchanges with the Cape Verde Coast Guard.
