Ganderbal Police Crack Down on Social Evils; Two Gamblers Apprehended in Harran Raid

GANDERBAL, April 16, 2026:- As part of an ongoing crackdown on social evils and illegal activities within the district, the Ganderbal Police successfully apprehended two individuals engaged in gambling in the Harran area.

Acting on specific information, a police team from Police Station Ganderbal conducted a raid and caught Mushtaq Ahmad Dar and Naseer Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Khun-Harran, in the act.

Officers on the scene recovered a deck of playing cards and seized stake money totaling Rs 2,300 from the gambling spot. Following the arrests, a formal case has been registered under FIR No. 57/2026, invoking Section 13 of the Gambling Act at Police Station Ganderbal, with further investigations currently underway to curb such illicit practices.

Reaffirming their dedication to maintaining public order, the Ganderbal Police have urged local citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate by reporting any similar illegal activities in their neighborhoods to ensure a cleaner and safer community.
