Ganderbal Police Arrest Drug Peddler and Seize Contraband Under Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan
GANDERBAL, April 16, 2026:-In a persistent effort to eliminate narcotics under the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan,” the Ganderbal Police successfully apprehended a drug peddler and recovered a significant quantity of contraband in the Kangan area.
Following a specific and credible lead, a police team—accompanied by an Executive Magistrate and a local Lumberdar—conducted a targeted search of a cowshed belonging to Javed Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rehim Dar, in Khanan Kangan.
During the operation, approximately 580 grams of a substance suspected to be Charas powder was discovered and seized, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect.
A formal case, FIR No. 31/2026 under Section 8/20 of the NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station Kangan, with investigations now focusing on identifying the broader supply chain and network linkages involved.
Reaffirming their stance on the “War Against Drugs,” Ganderbal Police have called upon the general public to continue sharing information to help safeguard the community and ensure a drug-free society.
