Surg VAdm Arti Sarin reviews IAF medical operational preparedness and innovation strategies
New Delhi, April 22, 2026:- The Director General of Armed Forces Medical Services, Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, addressed the Principal Medical Officers of Indian Air Force Commands during a two-day conference held at the Directorate General of Medical Services (Air) on April 21 and 22, 2026.
The high-level meeting focused on reviewing medical operational preparedness, sharing command best practices, and developing advanced medical support strategies to enhance patient care across the force.
During her address, the Flag Officer commended recent medical initiatives and outlined critical priorities for medical leadership, specifically emphasizing the need for high-quality research, focused training, and a renewed impetus toward innovation and aerospace medicine.
The conference also served as a platform to discuss the mental health and resilience of air warriors, with instructions for Principal Medical Officers to initiate projects led by Medical Officers to strengthen personnel well-being.
Surgeon Vice Admiral Sarin highlighted the importance of diligent procurement procedures, rigorous oversight of ECHS polyclinics, and a primary healthcare focus to ensure Force Health Protection.
By advocating for updated hospital utilization data and the advancement of Early Intervention Centres, the leadership aims to transition toward a more resilient and technology-enabled Armed Forces Medical Service capable of meeting modern operational demands.
