Pahalgam Police Arrest Six for Gambling, Seize ₹98,000 Cash and Issue Strict Advisory to Hotels

PAHALGAM, August 05, 2026 — In a targeted anti-crime operation, Police Station Pahalgam apprehended six individuals allegedly involved in illegal gambling during a raid conducted on a lawn situated behind Hotel Regent in Pahalgam.

During the successful operation, police personnel recovered and seized stake money totaling ₹98,000 from the spot. The authorities have taken formal cognizance of the matter, initiating a case and launching further legal proceedings under the relevant provisions of the law.The six arrested individuals have been identified as residents of Ompora and adjacent localities within Budgam district.

Following the operation, Pahalgam Police issued an appeal to all hotel and guest house owners across the area, strictly directing them not to provide space or facilitate any illegal activities on their commercial premises.

Police urged local stakeholders and business owners to actively cooperate in upholding law and order by immediately reporting any suspicious or unlawful conduct to the authorities.
