Kashmir Power Shutdown: KPDCL Announces Scheduled Outages Across Srinagar, Kulgam, and Baramulla Districts
SRINAGAR, AUGUST 04, 2026 — The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several key areas in Srinagar, Kulgam, and Baramulla districts over the coming days to facilitate crucial maintenance, upgrades, and line work. According to an official communication issued by the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the power supply will remain temporarily suspended during specific hours starting August 5 through August 10, 2026.
In Srinagar district, electricity supply will be impacted due to a planned shutdown of both the 33 kV Bemina–Fateh Kadal line and the 33 kV Bemina–Barbarshah line. Consumers residing in KK Mohalla, Nowpora, Bohrikadal, BB Shah, Bishembarnagar, Naisarak, Barbarshah, BSNL Exchange area, Basantbagh, Car Parking, Maisuma, and adjacent locations will experience power cuts from 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5, and Saturday, August 8, 2026.
In southern Kashmir’s Kulgam region, the 33 kV Wanpoh–Qaimoh transmission line will undergo a temporary shutdown. As a result, residents in Qaimoh, Khudwani, Redwani, Rampora, Matalhama, and their surrounding localities will face power interruptions between 08:00 AM and 02:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, and Saturday, August 8, 2026.
Additionally, scheduled maintenance will affect multiple sub-divisions in northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The shutdown of the 33 kV Delina–Wagoora line on Saturday, August 8, 2026, will cause power disruption from 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM across Wagoora, Kawcheck, Mangam, Watergam, Kreeri, Saloosa, Hospital area, Sangrama, Nowpora, Boosu, the local Cold Store, and nearby hamlets.
Furthermore, another shutdown is scheduled for the 33 kV Ahmadpora–Kongamdara line on Monday, August 10, 2026. Power supply to Kongamdara, Kunzer, Dhobiwan, Ahmadpora, Goom, Kralweth, Chichilora, and neighboring areas will be suspended from 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM on that day. KPDCL officials have advised affected residents and commercial establishments to plan their activities accordingly during these scheduled outage windows.
