Amritsar Rural Police Bust Cross-Border Drug Network, Seize 10 Kg Heroin and Arrest Two Accused

AMRITSAR, August 05, 2026 — In a major breakthrough against cross-border drug smuggling, the Amritsar Rural Police recovered 10 kilograms of high-grade heroin and arrested two accused individuals, dealing a severe blow to the trans-border narcotics supply network operating in the region.

Following the operational success, a formal First Information Report (FIR) was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Gharinda in Amritsar.A comprehensive investigation is currently underway to uncover all backward and forward linkages tied to the illicit consignment.

Police teams are actively working to identify all associates involved in the syndicate and dismantle the entire supply chain from its source.
