Omar Abdullah Reviews J&K Cable Car Projects to Boost Tourism Infrastructure in Gulmarg
GULMARG, MAY 06: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a high-level meeting of the Board of Directors of the Jammu & Kashmir Cable Car Corporation today at the Convention Center in Gulmarg. During the session, the Managing Director of the Corporation provided a comprehensive presentation on major ongoing projects and future initiatives.
The discussions centered on the strategic upgradation of the Gulmarg Gondola Project, specifically focusing on expanding its carrying capacity and improving operational efficiency through the modernization of critical infrastructure. The Board examined various agenda items in detail, aiming to align the corporation’s services with the increasing demands of the tourism sector.
The Chief Minister stressed the necessity of timely project execution and the integration of cutting-edge technology to maintain world-class safety standards. He noted that as tourist inflow continues to grow, it is essential to provide a seamless and secure experience for visitors.
Omar Abdullah underlined that strengthening tourism-related infrastructure is a key driver for boosting the local economy and creating livelihood opportunities.
The meeting was attended by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, and senior officials from the Tourism and Finance departments, all of whom were directed to ensure that maintenance and upgrades are carried out with strict adherence to safety protocols.
