Major General Varun Malhotra Appointed Commander Of Uttar Maharashtra And Gujarat Sub Area

MUMBAI, 10 July 2026: Headquarters Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area has a new commander as Major General Varun Malhotra officially took charge today.

Commissioned into the Corps of Engineers, The Bombay Sappers, the General Officer brings with him over three decades of experience and distinguished service across a wide spectrum of command, instructional, and staff appointments.

Upon assuming command, he interacted with officers and all ranks, complementing them for their professionalism and exhorting all personnel to maintain the highest standards of operational preparedness while remaining vigilant to emerging security challenges.
