Amarnath Yatra Pilgrims Injured in Highway Accident: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh Directs Assistance

UDHAMPUR, July 10, 2026 — Five Amarnath Yatra pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh were injured, including one critically, after their private motor vehicle met with a road accident near Toldi Nallah on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh immediately intervened following the incident, contacting local authorities to ensure rapid medical and logistics deployment.

Dr. Jitendra Singh confirmed he spoke directly with Udhampur District Development Commissioner (DC) Sh Minga Sherpa to assess the situation and coordinate emergency relief. Out of the five injured individuals, one woman sustained critical injuries and was immediately referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for specialized treatment.

The Union Minister reassured the public that every possible assistance is being provided to the victims and their families. He stated that his office remains in constant touch with local administrative and medical teams to monitor the rescue operations and the medical status of the injured pilgrims.
