6 Pilgrims Injured After Vehicle Skids Off Road in Udhampur; LG Manoj Sinha Directs Best Medical Care
UDHAMPUR, July 10, 2026 — Six Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, were injured early Friday after their vehicle skidded off the road near Toldi Nallah in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. The devotees were en route to the Pahalgam base camp for the holy cave darshan when the unfortunate road mishap occurred.
Following the incident, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha confirmed that one pilgrim sustained serious injuries, while the other five remain in stable condition. All six victims were initially rushed to the Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur for immediate medical attention. Due to the severity of the trauma, the critically injured pilgrim has since been shifted to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment, while the remaining five continue to receive care at Udhampur.
Taking swift note of the accident, LG Manoj Sinha issued immediate directives to the Divisional Commissioner of Jammu, the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, and medical administrations at both GMC Jammu and Udhampur to ensure the victims receive the best possible medical treatment. Expressing his concern on social media, the Lieutenant Governor stated that he is praying to Lord Shiva for their swift and complete recovery.
