KPDCL Announces Power Shutdown In Srinagar, Anantnag, Bandipora, And Other Areas; Check Dates and Timings
SRINAGAR, JUNE 09: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a series of scheduled power shutdowns across several districts in the valley to facilitate essential maintenance and upgrade works. According to an official communication from the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the power supply in multiple areas—including parts of Srinagar, Anantnag, Sopore, Baramulla, and Bandipora—will remain affected for six hours daily, from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, on specific dates spanning from June 10 to June 20, 2026. Residents and essential services, including hospitals, have been advised to plan ahead for these temporary outages.
In North Kashmir, outages will begin on June 10 and 13 due to a shutdown of the 33 KV LJHP Gantamulla-Uri Line, affecting power supply to Uri, Salamabad, NHPC, MES, TFC, Garkote, Balkote, Mohura, Rampur, Bani, Bijhama, Dhani, and surrounding locations. On June 13, electricity supply will be hit in Watergam, Hachipora, Palpora, Behrampora, and Dangiwacha owing to maintenance on the 33 KV Amargarh-Watergam Line. Similarly, a shutdown of the 33 KV Amargarh-Nowpora Line on June 13 will disrupt supply to Mundi, Seelo, Behrampora, Bomai, and Nowpora. Later in the month, on June 15, the 33 KV Malpora-Chandoosa Line will be closed, cutting power to Chandoosa, Dangerpora, Sultanpora, Gantamulla, Malpora, Hevan, Namblan, Nowshera, and the local hospital. Additionally, a shutdown of the 33 KV Nehalpora-Pattan Line will affect Pattan, Zangam, Buran, Hamray, Tapper, Wanigam, Tantraypora, and MES areas on June 10.
Sopore and Bandipora areas will also face rolling blackouts over the next two weeks. The 33 kV Amargarh-Sopore Line shutdown on June 11 will affect crucial areas including the Sopore Hospital, Court Road, Main Chowk, Model Town, and Sadiq Colony. On June 16, a maintenance freeze on the 33 kV Amargarh-Bandipora line will cut electricity to Duroo, Watlab, Tujjar, Warpora, Hathlangoo, Arampora, Adipora, and Sopore Town-I & Town-3. This will be followed by a planned outage on June 20 along the 33 kV Amargarh-Arampora Line, impacting Panzipora, Shari Colony, Tarzoo, and the PHC Hospital Tarzoo.
South Kashmir districts will see extensive shutdowns under multiple feeders. The 33 KV Mattan-Pahalgam Line will be offline on June 11, 13, 15, 17, and 20, cutting power to the District Jail in Anantnag, Seer, Salia, Sallar, Aishmuqam, Batkoot, and the tourist hub of Pahalgam. Furthermore, the 33 kV Wanpoh-Ashajipora line will witness shutdowns on June 10 and 13, impacting Ashajipora, Dialgam, Rohu, Mirbazar, Schichen, Brinty, Malaknag, Reshi Bazar, Janlatmandi, Shirpora, BB Nowgam, Thajiwara, and Brakpora. On June 13 and 15, power will be hit in Mir Bazar, Akhran, Veesu, Qazigund, and Kund due to work on the 33 kV Wanpoh-Qazigund-Mir Bazar line, while the 33 KV Wanpoh-Qaimoh line shutdown on June 11 and 14 will affect Qaimoh and Redwani.
Finally, central and neighboring areas will experience a combined shutdown on June 11 involving the 33 kV Badampora Wangipora/Safapora Tap Line, 33 kV Badampora Lar Line, and 33 kv Badampora Dab Line. This major technical exercise will interrupt the power supply to Batwina, Nowgam, Wangipora, Zazna, Ahan, Waskura, Kharbagh, Sumbal, Nesbal, Lar, Watlar, Repora, Dangerpora, Watlar Theeru, Larsun, Kurhama, Youngoora, Barsoo, Old Dab, Checki Baba Salun, Sainik School, Rabitar, and the Kondbal GCET Safapora vicinity.
