Kishtwar Authorities Disqualify Driving License and Suspend Vehicle Registration of NDPS Accused
KISHTWAR, MAY 06: -Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) in Kishtwar has taken stringent action against an individual involved in narcotics smuggling.
Assistant Regional Transport Officer Tasleem Wani officially disqualified the driving license of Junaid Ramzan Butt, a resident of Nagbatna Kuntwara, following his involvement in a criminal case registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
This decisive move is part of a broader, coordinated effort between the district police and transport authorities to enforce legal accountability and deter drug-related crimes in the region.
The disqualification of the license was initiated based on a formal recommendation from the Station House Officer regarding FIR No. 100/2026.
In addition to the licensing penalty, authorities have also suspended the Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle involved in the offense, which bears the registration number JK17B7786.
By rendering the vehicle legally inactive under the MVD Act, officials aim to ensure that assets used for illegal activities cannot be further misused.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to public safety, emphasizing that such inter-departmental actions will continue to target those undermining the law.
