Indian Navy Eastern Fleet Ships Arrive in Thailand to Strengthen Maritime Cooperation
SATTAHIP, June 27, 2026 — The Indian Navy’s Eastern Fleet ships Udaygiri, Shakti, and Kavaratti, led by Rear Admiral Alok Ananda, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, arrived at Sattahip, Thailand, for a scheduled port call.
The visit aims to enhance interoperability, strengthen professional cooperation, and promote a greater mutual understanding with the Royal Thai Navy through a series of planned operational interactions, sporting engagements, and community outreach activities.
This naval deployment reflects India’s continued commitment to its Act East policy and the regional security framework of security and growth for all in the region.
Furthermore, the port call reinforces cooperative maritime security in the Indo-Pacific and serves to strengthen maritime partnerships with ASEAN nations during the observed ASEAN-India Year of Maritime Cooperation 2026.
