NIA names three more in Delhi blast chargesheet
NEW DELHI, June 27, 2026The National Investigation Agency has filed a supplementary chargesheet against three more accused individuals, including an absconding prime suspect, in connection with the November 2025 car bomb explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi that claimed 11 lives.
The newly named accused are Zameer Ahmad Ahanger, Tufail Ahmad Bhat, and Muzafar Ahmad, who also goes by the aliases Faraz and Zafar. All three individuals hail from Jammu and Kashmir. This development brings the total number of chargesheeted individuals in the investigation to 13, a list that includes the deceased prime suspect Umer Un Nabi.
The absconding accused, Muzafar Ahmad, is a pediatrician and the elder brother of co-accused Adeel Ahmed Rather. Investigators have identified Muzafar Ahmad as a founding member of AGuH Interim, an offshoot of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization. The agency revealed that he was one of the central architects of the conspiracy alongside other co-accused individuals.
He reportedly attended a secret meeting in Srinagar in June 2022 where the terror module was first established, and he was later involved in the manufacturing, testing, and safekeeping of triacetone triperoxide-based improvised explosive devices at a clandestine facility inside Al-Falah University in Faridabad.
A non-bailable warrant has been issued for his arrest.The other two newly charged individuals played critical logistics roles for the terror module. Zameer Ahmad Ahanger operated as an overground worker who maintained contact with handlers and functioned as a courier for cash, arms, and ammunition.
Tufail Ahmad Bhat, a former overground worker for the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba organization, acted as the weapons supplier. He managed to procure an AK-47, a Krinkov rifle, a pistol, magazines, and ammunition through orchestrated dead drops, subsequently delivering them to the deceased main accused for a payment of three lakh rupees.The chargesheet was formally submitted to the National Investigation Agency Special Court at Patiala House Courts in New Delhi.
The arrested suspects face multiple charges under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The absconding pediatrician faces additional charges under the Explosive Substances Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
The federal agency is continuing its investigation into the case, utilizing forensic testing, geo-location mapping, and financial trail analysis to uncover further links.
