Indian Army Conducts Medical Patrol for Gujjar and Bakkarwal Community in Parat, Rajouri

RAJOURI, JULY 08 — The Indian Army successfully conducted a mobile medical patrol at Karma village in the Parat area of Rajouri district to deliver essential healthcare services directly to local residents, including members of the nomadic Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities. This public welfare initiative was specifically designed to reach isolated, remote locations where challenging terrain often prevents residents from accessing regular medical facilities. Equipped with critical medicines and basic healthcare supplies, the mobile medical team provided on-the-spot health check-ups, diagnostic assistance, and treatment for various common ailments.

Throughout the outreach camp, the army medical team distributed necessary medications and conducted sensitization sessions to educate the local population on preventive healthcare, proper hygiene, balanced nutrition, and general disease prevention. The patrol placed a special emphasis on addressing women’s healthcare needs and the specific medical requirements of children, ultimately benefiting a total of 24 individuals, including 7 men, 11 women, and 6 children. Expressing deep gratitude for the doorstep medical services, the local community welcomed the initiative, which further highlights the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to inclusive healthcare and strengthening its bond of trust with remote border populations.
