Doda Police Destroy 28 Kanals of Wild Cannabis in Massive Anti-Drug Drive
DODA, July 09, 2026: In a major crackdown under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, the Doda Police have intensified their campaign against narcotics by launching a massive, district-wide eradication operation that successfully destroyed wild cannabis spread over approximately 28 kanals of land. Operating under a strict zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse, multiple police teams and revenue officials targeted illicit vegetation across various jurisdictions to choke the supply of narcotic substances at their source.
The coordinated operations saw widespread enforcement, with Police Post Premnagar leading the eradication by clearing 6 kanals, followed closely by a joint operation between Police Post Bhalla and Revenue officials that eliminated 4 kanals of wild cannabis. Additionally, 3 kanals each were cleared by police teams in Goha Marmat and Karara, while operations by Police Post Khellani (near the PWD Office and Trauma Centre) and Police Station Assar cleared 2.5 kanals each. Furthermore, 2 kanals of the illicit crop were destroyed in Pul Doda, Kastigarh, and Gundna respectively, alongside 1 kanal cleared by Police Post DH Doda.
Senior law enforcement officials supervised the drives, emphasizing that public cooperation remains pivotal in completely dismantling the drug menace. In light of these operations, the Doda Police have urged citizens, especially the youth, to actively support the Nasha Mukt initiative by reporting any information regarding drug cultivation, trafficking, or consumption to local authorities to help build a healthier, drug-free society.
