BJP to Expose National Conference Failures and Fight for Public Rights in J&K, Says Sat Sharma

JAMMU, 09 July 2026: Jammu & Kashmir BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma has accused the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference (NC) government of betraying the public mandate and failing to deliver on its 2024 election manifesto promises. Chairing a high-level review meeting of senior party leaders at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Sharma finalized a comprehensive strategy to ramp up public outreach and aggressively challenge the ruling administration’s policies across the Union Territory.

The organizational meeting was attended by key party figures, including BJP General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra, Baldev Singh Billawaria, and Gopal Mahajan, alongside MLA Sham Lal Sharma and other senior leaders. The assembly focused heavily on analyzing the prevailing socio-political environment in Jammu & Kashmir and mapping out democratic interventions to safeguard citizen interests against what the party terms widespread administrative inefficiency.

During his address, Sharma asserted that the NC administration secured electoral support through unrealistic assurances but quickly abandoned the electorate after taking office. He cited critical deficits across major public sectors, pointing to rising unemployment, inflation, erratic power and water distribution, subpar civic amenities, delayed development projects, and deteriorating road infrastructure as clear evidence of the government’s governance failure.

Sharma noted that instead of establishing transparent and accountable grievance redressal systems, the NC leadership has consistently relied on diversionary tactics and political rhetoric to mask its lack of structural vision. He emphasized that vital demographics—including youth, farmers, traders, daily wagers, and public employees—are feeling increasingly marginalized by the administration’s persistent indecisiveness.

Reiterating a firm stance from the BJP national leadership, Sharma concluded that misgovernance and anti-people policies will face severe resistance in Jammu & Kashmir. He committed the party to strengthening its grassroots apparatus and holding the NC government strictly accountable, promising that the BJP will leverage both street-level public outreach and formal democratic institutions to amplify the grievances of ordinary citizens.
