CISF Seizes Over 3.2 Kg of Suspected Cannabis at Imphal Airport

IMPHAL JULY 09 — Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel at Imphal Airport intercepted and seized approximately 3.220 kg of suspected cannabis (ganja) during a random screening of a departing passenger’s baggage.

The detection occurred during a routine random X-ray Baggage Inspection System (X-BIS) screening at the departure area. Security personnel flagged the baggage of a passenger traveling from Imphal to Delhi. Upon a detailed physical examination, officers discovered three black plastic packets concealed inside the luggage, which contained the suspected contraband weighing around 3.220 kg. Following standard operating procedures, the passenger was detained, and both the individual and the seized substance were handed over to the local police for further investigation and legal action.
