Indian Army and Bharti Airtel partner to boost mobile connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR, June 14, 2026 :- The Indian Army and Bharti Airtel Private Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand communication infrastructure and establish mobile connectivity in the remote areas of East Kameng and West Kameng districts in Arunachal Pradesh.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone in military-civil integration aimed at fostering comprehensive nation-building. The initiative is designed to bridge the digital divide for several border communities that have lacked access to reliable communication networks for over a decade.

The expansion of telecom infrastructure is expected to significantly accelerate socio-economic development, improve the overall quality of life, and boost local tourism in the region. By establishing reliable mobile networks, the project will enable residents to access essential government digital services more efficiently.

Additionally, the enhanced communication network will support the operational effectiveness of army troops deployed in these strategic frontier areas, strengthening national security and aligned goals for regional development.
