Holy Relics of Lord Buddha Arrive in Zanskar for Public Exposition

ZANSKAR, May 11, 2026:- The Holy Relics of Tathagata Buddha arrived in Zanskar today for a two-day public exposition scheduled for May 11 and 12.

Conveyed via an Indian Air Force helicopter, the sacred relics were accompanied by the Secretary General of the International Buddhist Confederation, Venerable Shartse Khensur Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden, along with a specialized team from the National Museum in New Delhi.

The arrival marks a significant spiritual event for the region, drawing devotees from across the district.Upon arrival, the relics were formally received by the District Magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of Police of Zanskar.

A large gathering of local residents and monks lined the streets to offer a traditional welcome as the procession moved toward the Karsha Monastery.

The exposition provides a rare opportunity for the public to offer prayers and pay their respects to the sacred remains, further strengthening the cultural and spiritual ties within the Ladakh region.
