Jammu and Kashmir Weather Update Forecasts Rain and Hailstorms Through May 12

SRINAGAR, May 11, 2026 :- The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has issued a weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting generally cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain or thundershowers across most areas on May 11 and 12.

Some locations may experience hailstorms and gusty winds, particularly during the late afternoon and night hours. Following this period, the region is expected to see partly to generally cloudy skies with brief showers from May 13 to 17, while May 18 may bring scattered light rain.

Conditions are anticipated to remain mostly cloudy through May 21.In response to the forecast, authorities have issued an advisory warning of potential lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour in both the Kashmir and Jammu divisions over the next two days.

As a safety precaution, boating and shikara rides should be suspended during the afternoon and late evening hours.

Additionally, farmers throughout the region are advised to halt all agricultural operations between May 11 and 13 to avoid risks associated with the inclement weather.
