Congratulating the residents of the region, the Minister noted that this move addresses a critical educational need within the Udhampur parliamentary constituency.
The announcement follows a formal office order from the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) headquarters, which confirms that the school is part of a larger initiative to establish 85 new Kendriya Vidyalayas across the Civil and Defence sectors nationwide.
According to the official document shared by the Minister, the new institution, titled Kendriya Vidyalaya Ramban, has received immediate sanction to begin operations for the 2026-27 academic session. The school will be located at Kowbag Ramban, Jammu & Kashmir (Pin Code-182144), following the successful transfer of land by the sponsoring authority and the identification of suitable temporary accommodations.
The KVS order specifies that the school will initially cater to students from Class I to V, with a single section for each grade level, and is expected to expand progressively in the coming years based on feasibility and future approvals.
The administrative order, signed by Additional Commissioner Deepesh Gehlot, emphasizes that the admission process is slated for completion within 30 days once all remaining formalities regarding the takeover of land and temporary facilities are finalized.
This development marks a significant step in enhancing the educational infrastructure of Jammu & Kashmir, ensuring that quality central government schooling is accessible to the children of Ramban.
