DIG Anita Sharma Reviews SDRF and Civil Defence Operational Readiness in Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, April 19 — Deputy Inspector General of Civil Defence and SDRF Anita Sharma conducted a comprehensive inspection of the SDRF and Civil Defence components in Udhampur today to evaluate infrastructure and operational efficiency.
During her visit, the DIG assessed office facilities, training areas, and the condition of rescue equipment, emphasizing that all logistical resources must remain in peak condition to respond effectively to emergencies.
She interacted with SDRF personnel, Home Guards, and Civil Defence volunteers, praising their dedication and urging them to maintain high professional standards through regular skill upgrades and mock exercises.
The visit included a detailed interactive session with Chief Warden Surinder Kumar Khajuria and other senior wardens to discuss administrative challenges, manpower, and resource management. DIG Sharma assured the team of full administrative support from headquarters while directing the unit to prioritize capacity-building initiatives and community outreach.
She highlighted that public awareness regarding disaster management and first aid is essential for minimizing risks during natural or man-made disasters.
