CISF DG reviews West Bengal election security readiness

KOLKATA, April 28, 2026 — DG CISF Praveer Ranjan arrived in Kolkata alongside ADG Sudhir Kumar to lead a high-level assessment of security arrangements for the upcoming second phase of the West Bengal Assembly Elections.

The visit focused on ensuring that all personnel and resources are fully prepared for the complex logistical and security demands of the polling process.During a comprehensive review meeting held in Dum Dum, North 24 Parganas, the DG met with IG Shikhar Sahai and DIGs K. P. Singh, Kim, Ratan Kumar, Arun Singh, and Sudhir Kumar.

They analyzed operational strategies and deployment schedules to address potential security challenges across the region.The session included detailed briefings with battalion commanders, supervisory officers, and company commanders currently stationed for election duties.

The DG conducted a thorough evaluation of the force’s readiness, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high levels of vigilance throughout the voting period.The meeting concluded with a directive to strengthen communication and coordination across all command levels.

The DG stressed that seamless cooperation between different units is essential to maintaining a secure environment and ensuring that the election responsibilities are carried out effectively and without disruption.
