Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Flags Off Ambulances and Medical Equipment Under JKSPDC CSR Initiative
Jammu, April 21: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today inaugurated a significant healthcare upgrade by flagging off seven ambulances and advanced medical equipment from the Civil Secretariat in Jammu.
This initiative, funded by the Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation under its Corporate Social Responsibility program, represents an investment of over 500 lakh rupees toward improving public services.
The distribution includes high-tech TruNat machines and handheld X-ray units aimed at enhancing diagnostic capabilities across various districts.
Furthermore, the initiative provides critical support to the Thalassemia Day Care Centre at SMGS Hospital, essential supplies for child care institutions in Udhampur, and specialized Braille items for the Blind School at Roop Nagar to ensure inclusive social support.
During the event, which was attended by Health Minister Sakina Itoo and other senior officials, Chief Minister Abdullah emphasized that strengthening emergency medical access in underserved areas remains a primary goal of his administration.
He noted that these new resources will drastically improve response times and help save lives during medical emergencies.
Beyond the immediate medical supplies, the Chief Minister was briefed on over 237 lakh rupees worth of civil construction projects completed by the JKSPDC during the 2025–26 financial year.
By integrating infrastructure development with healthcare support, the government continues to leverage corporate partnerships to boost the region’s socio-economic indicators and ensure high-quality care for all citizens.
