Budgam Authorities Seize Vehicle Over Dangerous Road Stunts, Warn of Strict Action
BUDGAM, JULY 08 — Acting swiftly on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, the Assistant Regional Transport Office (ARTO) Budgam has seized a vehicle involved in performing dangerous stunts in the Haijan Brenwar area of the district. Upon receiving information about the reckless activity, transport authorities successfully traced and took custody of the vehicle, which bears registration number DL4CNB7704, for violating the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules. The seized vehicle is currently being held at the ARTO Office in Budgam as further legal proceedings are officially underway.
The Transport Department Budgam strongly condemned the behavior, emphasizing that performing stunts on public roads poses a severe threat to the safety of the driver, passengers, and other everyday road users. Reiterating a policy of zero tolerance for reckless driving, authorities warned that any activities endangering public safety will face strict legal repercussions in accordance with the law. In light of the incident, ARTO Budgam has appealed to all motorists—particularly younger drivers—to practice responsible driving, strictly adhere to traffic rules, and refrain from stunts, while urging the public to cooperate with officials to ensure safer roads across the district.
