Assam Rifles honors brave soldier Jang Bahadur Mall in Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR, JUNE 12, 2026 — Assam Rifles organized a solemn wreath-laying ceremony under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles North to pay tribute to Lance Naik Jang Bahadur Mall.

The commemorative event honored the brave soldier who made the supreme sacrifice exactly seventy years ago during a security operation.The soldier lost his life on June 11, 1956, at Mao in Nagaland while courageously fighting off an insurgent ambush during a road-opening patrol.

Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, and troops presented floral tributes and rendered a traditional Guard of Honour to recognize his exceptional valor, dedication, and selfless service to the nation.
