Assam Rifles conducts emergency medical evacuation for premature newborn and mother in Manipur
IMPHAL, June 5, 2026—Assam Rifles facilitated the emergency medical evacuation of Lunganliu Gangmai and her premature newborn from the Primary Health Centre in Khoupum to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal.
The newborn had developed severe respiratory complications following a premature birth, necessitating immediate and specialized medical intervention. Navigating challenging regional conditions, the security forces ensured a safe and timely transfer to provide critical humanitarian assistance.
