JAMMU, June 17, 2026 :- In a major breakthrough targeting organized crime and narcotics terrorism syndicates, the Jammu Police successfully arrested three key kingpins—Surajdeep Singh, Harpreet Singh, and Jaspreet—during a strategic raid conducted in Amritsar, Punjab.
The operation was carried out with the full cooperation of the Punjab Police in connection with multiple outstanding cases across various police stations, including Miran Sahib, Bishnah, Nagrota, and Gangyal.
Investigators revealed that these individuals served as the vital backward linkages for the notorious Lau Gujjar network operating inside Jammu and Kashmir, and were directly responsible for supplying nearly 80 percent of the illicit narcotic substances entering Jammu district.
The high-level operation followed a meticulous search operation that traced the network back to the suspects after the earlier arrest and interrogation of associates named Lateef, Bachu, Majeeda, and Mushtaq.
According to police records, the three arrested individuals managed a massive distribution ring that supplied contraband to nearly 20 forward links spread across Jammu and its adjoining districts, including Samba and Kathua. The raid successfully dismantled a critical supply chain that had been fueling drug addiction and financing illicit operations across the region.
The joint law enforcement teams, which included the ESU Jammu Team, the SHO Miran Sahib, and police sub-inspectors from Bishnah and Punjab, recovered a substantial cache of weapons, ammunition, commercial-grade narcotics, and luxury vehicles used to facilitate the illicit trade.
Among the seized items were an AK-47 rifle with 40 live rounds, a Star pistol with 29 live cartridges, four 12-bore cartridges, and approximately 1.020 kilograms of high-grade heroin. Additionally, officers confiscated an electronic weighing machine, packing materials, three mobile phones, 11 lakh in cash, and three vehicles, including a Mahindra Thar, a Honda Amaze, and a Maruti Swift.
Legal proceedings against the accused are currently underway as the Jammu Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and narco-terrorism.
