Tarn Taran Police and BSF Foil Major Terror Plot, Seize Weapon Cache and Arrest One in Punjab
TARN TARAN, August 05, 2026 — In a major operational breakthrough, Tarn Taran Police, in a joint operation with the Border Security Force (BSF) Punjab, apprehended one accused and recovered a significant cache of illegal arms and ammunition.
The seized weapons consignment includes one MP-09 rifle along with seven sophisticated pistols—comprising four Glock, two Zigana, and one Beretta pistol. Preliminary investigations reveal that the arms consignment was dispatched by anti-national elements operating from across the border, working in connivance with local gangster networks to execute targeted killings and disrupt peace and communal harmony in Punjab.
Following the seizure, law enforcement authorities registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) and launched an extensive, multi-pronged investigation. Security agencies are currently working to trace all backward and forward linkages of the smuggling racket, identify every member involved in the local network, and track down the foreign-based handlers coordinating the illicit operations.
Reaffirming their stance on regional security, the Punjab Police emphasized their steadfast commitment to completely dismantling cross-border terror and organized crime networks to safeguard the peace, security, and safety of the state’s citizens.
