Cloudburst Hits Upper Reaches of Kulgam, Causes Waterlogging as Streams Swell

KULGAM, August 05, 2026 — A cloudburst was reported at three separate locations—Trajan, Zumastal, and Qundlan—in the upper reaches of Kulgam district, causing a sudden rise in water levels across local streams.

According to local sources, the influx of water led to temporary waterlogging and localized inconvenience in low-lying parts of the DH Pora upper belt. Despite the sudden surge in stream currents, no loss of life or damage to property has been reported so far from any of the affected areas, and officials are keeping a close watch on the situation.
