Srinagar 09 September :- In a significant political development, the father and close family members of Mehraj Malik, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Doda, met with the Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdullah today.
The high-profile meeting, which centered on the contentious detention of the MLA under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA), saw the Chief Minister issuing a strong condemnation of the action.
In a clear and unequivocal statement, the Chief Minister reiterated that the invocation of the PSA against the elected representative was “completely unjustified and a blatant misuse of the powers of preventive detention.”
