Jammu and Kashmir Weather Forecast: Thundershowers Expected Over Next Seven Days
SRINAGAR, Aug 1 — Weather authorities have forecast recurring spells of rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir for the upcoming week, with activity expected to stay mostly short-lived rather than continuous.
On Saturday and Sunday, scattered morning and late afternoon showers are likely, while August 3 is expected to bring a brief period of rain lasting under two hours across most parts of the region. Scattered rainfall will persist on August 4, followed by brief, intermittent showers lasting under three hours from August 5 through August 7, leaving large parts of the day clear.
Despite the brief nature of the expected precipitation, atmospheric conditions remain highly favorable for intense, short-duration downpours. Weather experts have warned of a elevated risk of cloudbursts, localized flash floods, mudslides, and shooting stones, particularly along vulnerable routes such as the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Travelers and local residents are advised to remain cautious, avoid hazardous areas, and monitor official weather updates over the coming week.
