Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra: Senior Officials Visit Injured Pilgrims in Udhampur Following Road Accident
UDHAMPUR, July 10, 2026 — Following a road accident involving Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrims, top administrative and police officials visited the District Hospital in Udhampur to personally assess the condition of the injured and ensure the highest quality of medical care.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Udhampur-Katra-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar, IPS; Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur, Amritpal Singh, IPS; Deputy Commissioner (DC) Udhampur, Minga Sherpa, IAS; and Commandant Manoj Kumar Sicon of the CRPF 137th Battalion. During their visit, the administration interacted with the victims and assured them of all possible medical and logistical assistance during their recovery.
The accident occurred when an Ertiga passenger vehicle, bearing registration number MP13ZV 2836, skidded off the road near Toldi Nallah. The mishap resulted in injuries to five pilgrims, all hailing from the Baikunthpur area in the Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh.
The injured individuals have been identified as Subash Gupta (son of Dr. Lakshi Chand Gupta), Seema Gupta (wife of Subash Gupta), Rajeev Gupta (son of Jugal Kishore Gupta), Geeta Gupta (wife of Daleep Kumar Gupta), and Daleep Kumar Gupta (son of Jagdish Kumar Gupta). Authorities responded swiftly to transport the victims to the hospital, and the district administration remains on high alert to facilitate seamless medical aid for all Amarnath Yatra pilgrims.
