Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha Meets Civil Society and Business Leaders to Discuss Shri Amarnath Yatra Preparations
SRINAGAR, JUNE 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met with civil society groups, business leaders, and religious heads today to discuss the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
During the interaction, Sinha appealed to all sections of society to actively support and contribute to the sacred journey, describing it as a true symbol of social harmony. He urged the public to step forward to ensure a memorable spiritual experience for all arriving pilgrims, noting that the pilgrimage presents a unique opportunity to showcase the region’s culture of selfless service, compassion, and hospitality to the entire world.
The sacred pilgrimage of devotion, dedication, and faith is scheduled to begin on July 3 and conclude on August 28 this year. Sinha emphasized that the representatives of civil society, religious groups, business bodies, and social workers serve as the guardians of the nation’s moral conscience and custodians of its deep spiritual traditions.
He called for collective unity across all sectors to transform devotion into compassionate action, ensuring that every pilgrim experiences respect, safety, and a profound sense of belonging while traveling to the sacred cave. Sinha highlighted that the annual event serves as a powerful occasion where people of all faiths, including Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians, stand united in the cause of human service.
The meeting also highlighted major infrastructural advancements, with Sinha noting that the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board and various administrative stakeholders have continuously worked to make the journey smoother and safer. Recent upgrades include widened roads, improved communication facilities, and modernized transit infrastructure equipped with high-quality facilities.
During the interaction, the civil society members unanimously extended their full support for the successful execution of the pilgrimage, praising the extensive arrangements made by the administration in healthcare, sanitation, security, and logistics.
Sinha welcomed the practical suggestions shared by the attendees and assured them that all genuine recommendations would be thoroughly evaluated for swift implementation.
