KULGAM, JUNE 27: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, visited Sailkhanen village in Kulgam district today to host a public darbar aimed at directly engaging with residents and addressing their developmental grievances.

Addressing the gathering, Itoo stated that the Omar Abdullah-led government remains deeply committed to people-centric governance, focusing heavily on upgrading healthcare infrastructure in rural and far-flung areas. She highlighted various ongoing welfare schemes, particularly those benefiting women, and encouraged local youth to utilize government skill development initiatives to enhance employment opportunities.

During the interaction, local residents raised several key demands, including the inclusion of the region on the tourism map, an upgraded drinking water supply system, and the speedy completion of the local Panchayat Ghar. In immediate response to the community’s needs, Itoo directed concerned officials to identify suitable land for a youth playfield and dedicated an ambulance to the local hospital to improve emergency medical response in the remote area.

The Minister assured the public that all remaining valid infrastructural and administrative demands would be systematically addressed in a phased and time-bound manner.
