Special Lok Adalat in Jammu Settles All Motor Accident Claims and Awards Massive Compensation

JAMMU, JUNE 27: The District Legal Services Authority of Jammu organized a Special Lok Adalat dedicated exclusively to Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal cases, successfully settling all five cases taken up for hearing through amicable reconciliation. A total compensation amount of ₹39,60,000 was awarded to the claimants during the session.

The targeted legal initiative was held under the guidance of Principal District & Sessions Judge and DLSA Jammu Chairman Ravinder Nath Watal, and executed under the direct supervision of Civil Judge Senior Division and DLSA Jammu Secretary Maleeka Sharma.To ensure efficient proceedings, two specialized benches were constituted for the event.

The first bench comprised MACT Jammu Presiding Officer Khem Raj and Panel Lawyer Gurdeep Singh Gill, while the second bench featured Presiding Officer and Additional Sessions Judge Anti-Corruption Jammu Rajni Sharma alongside Panel Lawyer Deepali Arora.

The successful resolution of all listed cases highlights the continuing efficacy of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in providing speedy and mutually acceptable relief to accident victims and their families while significantly reducing the pendency of insurance and accident claims within the judicial system.
