Anantnag Police conduct anti-drone mock drill ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra

ANANTNAG, June 27, 2026 :- Ahead of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the Anantnag Police conducted a comprehensive mock drill simulating a rogue drone sighting to enhance operational readiness against potential aerial threats.

The exercise took place along the critical stretch extending from GDC Chowk in Khanabal to Sanal Crossing. The main objective of the drill was to evaluate the response capabilities, vigilance, and field coordination of the security personnel tasked with managing drone-related security contingencies during the annual pilgrimage.

During the operational simulation, ground teams spotted a suspected rogue drone and immediately transmitted the high-priority data to the Police Control Room and the Joint Police Control Room in strict compliance with established security protocols.

Upon receiving the alert, quick-response police teams initiated tactical containment measures while the dedicated Anti-Drone Detachment was deployed to the scene to neutralize the aerial threat.

The exercise successfully validated the efficiency of emergency communication networks, tactical response times, and inter-unit synergy as part of the broader security blueprint for the pilgrimage.
