Beyond Security: CRPF 137 Battalion Partners with GMC Udhampur for Life-Saving World Blood Donor Day Drive
UDHAMPUR, June 14, 2026 — Demonstrating a profound commitment to humanitarian service and community welfare, the 137 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) successfully organized a voluntary blood donation camp at its Transit Camp in Omara Morh, Udhampur.
Held in commemoration of World Blood Donor Day under the global life-saving theme, the noble initiative was conducted in close collaboration with the Department of Immunohaematology and Blood Transfusion from Associated Hospital and Government Medical College (GMC) Udhampur.
The primary objective of the camp was to replenish the regional blood bank reserves and directly support local patients undergoing critical medical treatments at the government facility, beautifully showcasing the paramilitary force’s dedication to societal well-being beyond its core internal security responsibilities.
The high-profile event was inaugurated by the Commandant of the 137 Battalion CRPF, Manoj Kumar Sikon, who served as the chief guest for the occasion and actively encouraged the gathered personnel to participate whole-heartedly in this vital humanitarian drive.
Prompted by his inspiring address, a dedicated group of CRPF officers and jawans stepped forward voluntarily to donate blood, resulting in the successful collection of approximately 20 units of blood during the single-day camp. The entire extraction process was meticulously executed under the strict supervision of qualified medical professionals from GMC Udhampur to ensure maximum safety, reinforcing the timeless sentiment that every single drop of blood donated represents a lifeline of humanity that directly helps save innocent lives within the local civilian populace.
