SOG Jammu and NSG conclude joint counter terrorism exercise Shakti Sangam
JAMMU, June 13, 2026 :- A week-long joint training exercise named Shakti Sangam, conducted by the Special Operations Group Jammu and the National Security Guard, successfully concluded today following intensive training sessions held from June 8 to June 13, 2026.
The exercise was designed to enhance operational preparedness, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and improve rapid response capabilities against evolving security threats in the region.During the comprehensive training program, security personnel underwent rigorous and specialized modules covering a wide spectrum of counter-terrorism and tactical operations.
Key areas of focus included intervention tactics, hostage rescue operations, the employment of advanced force multipliers, and the handling and deployment of bomb disposal equipment. The teams also trained extensively in counter-drone measures, the utilization of night vision devices, and live firing practices.
The participating personnel engaged in multiple scenario-based drills aimed at sharpening real-time decision-making and ensuring a coordinated response during critical security incidents. The joint exercise provided a valuable platform for the Special Operations Group Jammu and the National Security Guard to exchange domain expertise, share tactical best practices, and enhance interoperability for complex security operations.
