Manoj Sinha addresses Global Kashmiri Pandit Conclave in Srinagar emphasizing homecoming and regional development
SRINAGAR, June 13, 2026 :- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the landmark Global Kashmiri Pandit Conclave in Srinagar, an event drawing prominent members of the Kashmiri Pandit community from India and across the global diaspora.
Speaking at the gathering, which celebrates the community’s journey of resilience, renaissance, and return, Sinha stated that the homecoming of those once uprooted from their homeland represents the truest victory. He noted that the presence of global business leaders, corporate heads, technology entrepreneurs, and cultural icons reflects strong confidence in the peace and administrative stability of Jammu and Kashmir under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reflecting on the history of the community, the Lieutenant Governor acknowledged that their journey has been scarred by genocide, exile, and immense struggle since the unimaginable brutality and forced displacement of the 1990s. He remarked that when faced with the choice between despair and rebuilding, the community chose creation, transformation, and selfless service, turning their pain into strength. Instead of being defined by their wounds, Kashmiri Pandits shaped their own destiny by building industries, founding institutions, driving innovation, and earning global respect for their talent and leadership.
Sinha called upon the distinguished members of the community to actively participate in the reconstruction and revival of Jammu and Kashmir by establishing industries, academic facilities, and cultural institutions in the region. He emphasized that these initiatives would preserve their rich heritage and create sustainable opportunities for future generations across various sectors, including education, arts, commerce, and spirituality. The discussions at the conclave regarding global investments and a shared economic future serve as a practical blueprint for cultural revival and community restoration.
The Lieutenant Governor further stated that the return of the Kashmiri Pandit community reflects the birth of a new Jammu and Kashmir after 2019, which has been transformed into a center of reconstruction by the central government. He affirmed that the dignified return of the community remains a firm resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Sinha concluded by praising the steadfastness of the community and highlighting that their contributions will play a significant role in building a developed India.
