INS Dega launches green initiatives and plantation drive on World Environment Day 2026

VISAKHAPATNAM, June 5, 2026—INS Dega observed World Environment Day through a series of comprehensive initiatives aimed at promoting ecological awareness and sustainable living for future generations.

The environmental campaign featured cleanup drives, vehicle pollution checks, a dedicated dark hour to conserve energy, and informative lectures focusing on renewable energy solutions.

Additionally, personnel participated in various educational competitions and planted 350 saplings across the unit premises under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative, reinforcing the Indian Navy’s commitment to environmental protection and the national Mission LiFE objectives.
