Jammu and Kashmir government assigns additional administrative charges to Saurabh Bhagat

SRINAGAR, June 3, 2026 — In the interest of administration, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir General Administration Department has issued an official order assigning additional administrative responsibilities to a senior bureaucrat.

According to Government Order No. 1038-JK(GAD) of 2026, Saurabh Bhagat, a 2002-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre who currently serves as the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government for the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, will now hold additional charges.

Under the new directive, issued by order of the Lieutenant Governor, he has been tasked with managing the posts of Administrative Secretary for the Information Technology Department as well as the Public Grievances Department.

The order, signed by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government M. Raju, specifies that these newly assigned portfolios will be held in addition to his existing duties until further orders are issued by the civil secretariat.
