Jammu and Kashmir Weather Forecast for May 2026

Srinagar, May 13, 2026 :- The Meteorological Centre in Srinagar has issued a detailed weather outlook for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a mix of rain and dry spells over the next ten days. For May 13, residents should expect partly cloudy conditions with light rain or thundershowers occurring at scattered locations.

Thunder and gusty winds are particularly likely to develop during the afternoon hours. This pattern will continue into May 14, which is expected to remain partly cloudy with brief showers across the region.

A more active weather system is anticipated between May 15 and May 16, with generally cloudy skies and light rain or thundershowers expected at many places. These days may also see significant gusty winds.

Following this spell, conditions will turn generally dry on May 17 and 18, though brief showers cannot be ruled out. Another period of cloudiness and light rain is forecast for May 19 and 20, before a consistent dry spell takes hold from May 21 through May 23.

Authorities have issued a formal advisory warning of potential thunder, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph in parts of both the Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

Due to these turbulent conditions, officials recommend the suspension of boating and shikara riding, particularly during the afternoon and late afternoon hours when the weather is most likely to turn volatile.

Travelers and locals are advised to stay informed and exercise caution during these periods.
